For over 20 years, Gerald Hanweck, CEO and founder of Hanweck, has been at the forefront of derivatives research, strategy and technology innovation. Prior to founding Hanweck, he spent ten years with JPMorgan, where he served as Chief Equity Derivatives Strategist and led the bank's U.S. Fixed-Income Derivatives Strategy team. Earlier in his career, he worked as a derivatives researcher at Discount Corporation of New York Futures, and as a software developer at Microsoft.
A frequent industry speaker, Mr. Hanweck has also taught master's-level business courses at Northwestern University's Kellogg Graduate School of Management and the Graduate School of Business at the University of Chicago, in addition to dozens of seminars on financial derivatives. Mr. Hanweck holds a PhD in managerial economics and decision science from the Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University, and an AB in mathematics from Princeton University.
As Chief Operating Officer of Hanweck, Michael Hollingsworth leverages his extensive trading and analysis experience in his role overseeing the company's quantitative research, business development and operations. Prior to joining Hanweck, he was chief quantitative analyst at MarketAxess, a leading electronic trading platform. Throughout his career, Mr. Hollingsworth has held positions trading fixed-income arbitrage at CIBC and Yamaichi; as an analyst for Merrill Lynch's Exotic Foreign-Exchange Options trading desk; and as a broker for JPMorgan Futures on the floor of the Chicago Board of Trade. Mr. Hollingsworth holds an MBA in finance and statistics from New York University, and a BS in finance from the Pennsylvania State University.
Mr. Bane joined Hanweck in 2015 and established the Belfast office. Previously, he was a Managing Director at NYSE Euronext, where he managed the development team for a globally distributed market data platform. His tenure also includes a position as Product and Engineering Manager at Wombat, where he was part of the initial senior team in Belfast that grew the company from four employees to over150 at the time of its acquisition by NYSE. Prior experience also includes roles at Kainos as Technical Architect and Developer/Team Lead at Lution. Mr. Bane holds an undergraduate degree in Geology and a Master’s in Environmental Science from Queens University in Belfast.
Mr. Brenner joined Hanweck in 2017 to lead the commercialization of the firm's derivatives clearing-related products. In this role, he will focus on developing and bringing to market a suite of products targeted toward real-time risk management, margin attribution, and collateral optimization. Prior to joining Hanweck, Mr. Brenner has served in leadership roles with extensive options, clearing, and product development experience, including President and Chief Strategy Officer of Lightspeed Trading and Senior Advisor to APEX Clearing. He also launched the stock exchange for the International Securities Exchange and served as its Chief Executive. Mr. Brenner is a graduate of Northwestern University.
As Director of Client Services, Ms. Dolan is responsible for all aspects of client support at Hanweck, including on-boarding, client communications, managing deliverables and identifying new opportunities within the existing customer base. Prior to joining Hanweck, Ms. Dolan had 10+ years of technology and managerial experience in the Financial Markets Industry. Most recently she was a Director at NYSE Technologies where, during her tenure, she managed global client delivery, development and QA teams. Prior to NYSE, she was Director of Client Services for Wombat Financial Software. Ms. Dolan holds an LLB Law and Accounting from Queen's University Belfast.
As Director of Finance, Ms. Dworin is responsible for Hanweck’s accounting and finance functions, including daily accounting operations, financial reporting, planning and budgeting, and financial forecasting. Prior to joining Hanweck, Ms. Dworin was the Director of Finance at the largest online nutrition school globally. She has also served as a Financial Services Auditor at Ernst & Young and as a fund accountant at a top-tier hedge fund with over $20 billion in assets under management. In each of these roles, Ms. Dworin focused on building her experience in GAAP accounting, financial reporting and analysis, budgeting/forecasting, and cash management. She holds a BS from Cornell University in Industrial and Labor Relations and an MS in Accounting from the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce. Ms. Dworin is a Certified Public Accountant.
Ms. Kachintseva oversees the entirety of Hanweck’s technology infrastructure, including the firm’s data centers, network, hardware, IT security, and infrastructure related projects. She has over twenty years of experience in technology leadership roles within the financial services industry, including most recently as Manager of IT Infrastructure at Davidson Kempner Capital Management, a top tier hedge fund, and previously as Co-Head of Infrastructure at Soros Fund Management. Ms. Kachintseva holds a Master’s in Computer Science/Mathematics from Ohio University and a Master of Science in Computer Science from Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys.
Mr. Levy leads business development activities at Hanweck, with responsibility for expanding the reach and scope of Hanweck's products in the financial industry, and acting upon opportunities to develop new business lines. He joined Hanweck from Merrill Lynch where he headed Portfolio Risk Analytics in New York for six years. He helped found MarketAxess, where he developed trading businesses in credit and rates products. Mr. Levy has held a number of senior positions in sell-side firms, including running fixed-income arbitrage desks. He began his financial career at JP Morgan where he traded U.S. Treasuries and rates derivatives for eight years. Mr. Levy holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago, and a BES in Electrical Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University.
As Director of Human Resources for Hanweck, Ms. Ojakian is responsible for the development, planning, organization, implementation and evaluation of the organization’s human resources function and performance. Prior to joining Hanweck, Ms. Ojakian was the Director of Human Resources at Mesoblast, a biotechnology company in Midtown Manhattan. Over the past 12 years she has focused on building extensive experience in employee relations and engagement, full cycle recruitment, and coaching and development; both within the US and globally, across diverse organizations and cultures/environments. Ms. Ojakian holds a Master’s in Labor Studies and Employment Relations from Rutgers University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science from Providence College.
As General Counsel, Ms. Sherrer consults with management on various corporate legal matters, including intellectual property protection, contract drafting and review, and employment issues. Prior to joining Hanweck, Ms. Sherrer was a partner at Sherrer & Burtnett LLC, where she focused her practice on intellectual property, corporate litigation and transactions. Ms. Sherrer was previously an attorney at K&L Gates, a leading global law firm, where she counseled corporations on the protection of their intellectual property surrounding cutting edge science and technology. Ms. Sherrer holds a Master of Laws in Intellectual Property from the John Marshall Law School, a Juris Doctor from Loyola University Chicago, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Knox College.
Mr. Watson leads the Sales effort for Hanweck, where he focuses on generating new business and expanding the firm's sphere of influence in the marketplace. Mr. Watson joined the team from the New York Stock Exchange, where he ran the derivatives market data business, and signed Hanweck on as a data partner to expand the depth and quality of NYSE's options data offerings. Prior to NYSE, he worked in product development for ORC Software and Trading Technologies, and began his career in fixed-income and Treasury operations at ABN Amro. Mr. Watson holds an MBA from the University of Chicago, and a BA in Psychology from Wabash College.
